The action takes place in the back parlour of the village paper shop. The time is the 1950s. The formidable Jane Ann runs ber paper shop and dominates her son Craig with a rod of iron. Even her one admirer – the hapless Willie – is afraid to approach her. However, a visit from an eccentric fortune-teller, plus some strange and spooky events, soon change things forever!
